Beetle's history is presumably similar to his Earth-616 counterpart's up until Spider-Man first bonded with the Venom symbiote. After becoming corrupted by the symbiote, Spider-Man began killing criminals. So, some of his enemies assembled the Sinister Six to kill him before he got them first. To lure Spider-Man into a trap, Mysterio sent Beetle to lure Spider-Man out. Unfortunately for Beetle, Spider-Man tortured him for information on the Sinister Six before killing him. Spider-Man also displayed Beetle's corpse in front of the Sinister Six to scare them.
