The Beetle's suit was powered by microwaves. The Beetle attempted to steal a crime fighting computer from Tony Stark but he was defeated by the heroes Iceman, Firestar, and Spider-Man, accidentally bringing the Spider-Friends together for the first time. He then stole Stark's Power Booster device. He tried to destroy Stark International to eliminate all the other Power Boosters, but the Spider-Friends retrieved the Power Booster and destroyed Beetle's armor. He was arrested.
