Abe Cabot was the minor of the Cabot family, a strongly racist family both against black people and against mutants, besides there was a feud between the Cabot and the Guthrie that had been going on for years. One day Abe began to annoy and beat Jeb Guthrie, not imagining that Jeb had developed mutant powers with adolescence and unleashed them first against Abe and then losing control he did considerable damage by forcing the sheriff to shoot him injuring him. Later to demonstrate what Jeb's mutant powers had brought to Abe, Abe's grandmother showed it to her sister Julia and she noticed that in fact Abe had nothing but a simple sunburn and he complained that he could have died because he had been electrocuted.
