Adolfus Crane, an industrialist, was among New York City's corrupted figures. He was picketed by demonstrations organized by Ben Parker, causing three of Crane's sweatshops to be closed down. Reporter Ben Urich suspected Crane financed the Goblin to kill Ben Parker.
