The Vulture was a tech expert that wanted to join Midtown High School and Avengers Academy, but was refused entry due to his habit of stealing others' technology. The Vulture and Rhino were some of the many villains committing crimes in New York City, and framing Spider-Man for them. They were defeated by the Avengers Academy students, and jailed. One year later, while running an underground Hero Battle salvage scheme, The Vulture attacked both Avengers Academy and Midtown Sci-Tech (a school that Peter Parker attended in order to protect his secret identity). During the Midtown Sci-Tech Homecoming Dance, Vulture kidnapped Silk, Agent Venom, J. Jonah Jameson and Spider-Girl. Vulture was eventually defeated by the Academy students and their new amazing friends.
