Aftermath was the third Sleeper created by Doorman, whose job was to defend England in the event the Gulf War turned nuclear and was designed to absorb energy. He was stored in an unused aviary until awakened by Oonagh Mullarkey. Plasmer, Captain America, Captain Britain and Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd) tried to stop it from awakening but it absorbed the Power Cosmic from the Surfer and used it to become more powerful. Since he was attacked, Aftermath believed that England had been conquered by its enemies, and activated his "Earth-Burn" scenario which wouldn't leave anything in London standing. However, he quickly grew beyond his programming and set about a new plan, to conquer. He swatted away the heroes when they tried to stop him and when Oonagh attempted to gain control, he set about trying to destroy her instead. The Doorman revealed he was the creator of the Sleepers, and assisted in defeating Aftermath by containing Plasmer into an ultra dense state, effectively making her a mini big bang, and the Silver Surfer launched her at Aftermath, destroying him.
