Ajax's history is presumably similar to his Earth-616 counterpart's. After humankind was devastated by nuclear war and biological attacks, Ajax helped Atalanta get revenge on the Black Scythe organization for the death of their teammate Prometheus. The Pantheon then went into seclusion and lived in a base beneath Canada's Columbia Icefield. One day, Delphi sensed that the Pantheon's former teammate Hulk had survived, was now going by the moniker of the Maestro, and was the middle of conquering Washington, D.C. Delphi informed the rest of the Pantheon. Hector and Ulysses wanted to stop the Maestro, but Atalanta was against it, having grown disillusioned with protecting humankind after its devastation. Later, Ajax and the rest of the Pantheon discovered that their base had been discovered by Doctor Doom, and he demanded to be let in.
