Al-Hasan, also known as Astrolabe, was human member of the Guardians of the Galaxy from the 11th century. He held a sentient star inside his mind, which made him the most powerful and dangerous member of the team, but also required constant intense concentration to control. With his team, he fought the invading forces of Newcomers who had invaded Iraq on Earth and were turning its inhabitants into hybrid warriors. They teamed up with the Guardians of the Galaxy from the 21st century and the Guardians of the Galaxy from the 31st century to battle the invaders.
