Ms Marvel is one of the most awaited MCU series based on the Cosmic comics. In September 2020, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah were hired to direct two episodes of the series, with Meera Menon hired to direct one episode, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy hired to direct three episodes; Menon and Obaid-Chinoy ultimately directed two episodes each.

Before she becomes Captain Marvel, Danvers' initial superhero moniker is Ms Marvel, and not long after Kamala's first appearance, she becomes the new Ms Marvel. In the show, as in the comics, Kamala is also a huge fan of the Avengers, and Captain Marvel in particular. Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan in “Ms. Marvel.” One of the most obvious changes made for Kamala's live-action debut is her superpowers and their origins. In the comics, Kamala has the ability to shape-shift, which includes taking on the forms of other superheroes as well as growing, shrinking and stretching out her body.

Marvel has published four ongoing comic series titled Ms Marvel, with the first two starring Carol Danvers and the third and fourth starring Kamala Khan. Ms Marvel was the highest-ranked female character on IGN's Top Avengers list.
