He and Lord Baden Powell both served as Chief Scouts of the Boy Scouts.

Grylls married Shara Cannings Knight in 2000. They have three sons named Jesse (born 2003), Marmaduke (born 2006) and Huckleberry (born 2009). BEAR GRYLLS OBE, has become known worldwide as one of the most recognized faces of survival and outdoor adventure. Trained from a young age in martial arts, Grylls went on to spend three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces, as part of the 21 SAS Regiment.
