The Baron Mordo character has appeared in other forms of media, such as animated television series, films, and video games. Chiwetel Ejiofor portrays the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Doctor Strange (2016) and an alternate universe version in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). Following the death of the Ancient One and the eventual defeat of Kaecilius, Mordo was so mortified by his colleagues’ constant violation of natural laws that he turned his back on his allies. Instead, he chose to restore balance by stripping sorcerers of all their powers.
While Mordo plays a prominent role in Doctor Strange, he has a much smaller part in Multiverse of Madness. We never even see the MCU’s original Mordo in the new movie. Instead, we only meet Mordo of the parallel universe Earth-838.
