Adolf Hitler was the dictator of Nazi Germany. In February 1934, he attended a representation of Richard Wagner's opera Parsifal at the Deutsches Opernhaus in Berlin. After the performance, he met Professor Johann Schmidt, who revealed to him his theory that Asgardian gods and their magic could be more than a myth.

In 1943, during World War II, Hitler dispatched the three SS officers, Roeder, Schneider, and Hutter, to the Hydra base in the Alps to demand explanation from Schmidt on his apparent failure to deliver any new weapon designs in over a year.
