An obscure Spanish superhero who defeated the villain The Pompadore (mirroring the victory of his Earth-616's counterpart El Águila against el Conquistador). After that victory, supervillains from different countries went to Spain to confront Al Eagle, in the process destroying a city and Al Eagle's popularity. Al Eagle then joined Professor Echs's Obscurity Legion. Professor Echs happened to be writer Scott Lobdell, and his idea for a series on Obscurity Legion was disliked by editor Tom DeFalco. The Obscurity Legion eventually dissolved because it all had been a hoax, an imaginary story and a dream sequence, orchestrated by the What-iffer.
