Ather Shah Khan Jaidi (January 1, 1943 – May 10, 2020) was a Pakistani comedian, poet, and writer. He was best known for his own-created character Jaidi, which he portrayed in a number of plays, dramas, and films.

Jaidi was born in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, British India, on January 1, 1943. He moved to Pakistan after the Partition of India in 1947. He received his education in Lahore and Peshawar. He graduated from Urdu Science College, now Federal Urdu University in Karachi, and later earned a master's degree in journalism from the University of the Punjab in Lahore.

Jaidi began his career as a journalist in the early 1960s. He worked for a number of Urdu newspapers and magazines, including Daily Jang, The Nation, and The Frontier Post. He also wrote a number of books, including a collection of his poems and a book on the history of comedy in Pakistan.

In the early 1970s, Jaidi began his career as an actor. He appeared in a number of plays, dramas, and films, including the films "Aag Ka Darwaza" and "Zindagi Aur Khwab".
